 Our Adoptable Pet List

THANK YOU FOR HELPING STAR, DANDI, MIKEY AND DOMINO!

(These 4 babies have been adopted and now have great homes!)

6/28/05: We were contacted by Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee which is an excellent rescue organization in Knoxville, TN, asking us if we had room to take these babies in. Without them, these babies would never have made it into rescue. We want to thank them very much.

7/6/05: We met Karen Marquand of Small Breed Rescue of East TN to pick these babies up. We were warned that they were in horrible condition; and as you can see, they were. We took these babies back with us and immediately provided them with flea treatment, worming, and antibiotics.

7/7/05: We took all these babies to Groomingdales Pet Grooming who has helped us in the past. They worked very hard to clean these babies up, and want to thank them. We highly recommend that anyone in the Chattanooga, TN area utilize their excellent services. We received a call about Star because they were concerned about the wounds under her matted leg. We immediately took her to Riverview Animal Hospital where they sedated, completed grooming, and cleaned and bandaged her wounds.

They are in DESPERATE need of veterinary care. They will need extensive medical attention, which includes surgery to remove tumors, blood work, neutering/spaying, vaccinations and dentals.

Thanks to all the wonderful supporters of Star, Dandi, Mikey and Domino! If anyone would like to make a donation to SCMR in Honor of these dogs that will help future rescues, please do so. Our main source of funding comes from adoptions and donations, which both are down, so any amount would be appreciated! Star, Dandi, Mikey and Domino say thank you and so does SCMR!
Donations (payable to SCMR) may also be mailed to:

Domino (8/12/05) 9/26/05 update:
 ADOPTION PENDING!

8/12/05 update: Domino is around 6 years old and weighs 5.5 pounds. He is slightly underweight, but is working on gaining a pound or two. He is such a sweet, gentle little guy. His daily to-do list consists of getting lots of pets, rubs and belly scratches (with a couple of good boy treats thrown in)! He loves to sit on your lap and follows his foster mom and dad EVERYWHERE. As long as he can see his human, he’s happy. He is so appreciative of any attention/affection he gets, and will look at you with these big eyes like “so this is what it’s like to be loved”. Domino gets along great with his foster brother and sister. He is a very smart little guy and is housebroken, but will need continued reinforcement in his forever home. He is fully vetted, including dental. (Adoption Donation - $150)

Star 9/26/05 update:
 ADOPTION PENDING!

8/12/05 update: One look in her big, luminous eyes and you will be in love with Star! Her hard life (up 'till now) doesn’t seem to have affected her sweet disposition. We figure she’s 10+, a precious little senior with SO much love yet to give! She loves to be cuddled, is quiet and well behaved and is very friendly with other dogs and people. Star was anemic when she arrived...too many fleas and general neglect. But all that is changing. Star is losing weight and getting a lot healthier. She has a lipoma (fat bubble) on the inside of her back left leg but it doesn’t hamper her movement. Her right back thigh looks swollen because of a lipoma in the muscle but is also not a problem for her. Once her coat grows back in, her soft hair will cover all that and you will only see her beautiful eyes! She only has 3 teeth but will be getting those 3 cleaned when she’s stronger! She knows to potty outside but will need someone who is conscientious about taking her out for regular potty breaks. She sleeps all night without messing her bed. When Star is strong enough, she will be completely vetted and ready to shine her light in your heart! She got a cold last weekend and is getting better but hasn't shaken off all the croupiness. It's possible that her original anemic condition has lowered her resistance. Her immune system isn't at 100% yet. She's been on a diet as the vet recommended she loose weight, and she has lost a whole pound! (Adoption Donation - $100)

Dandi 9/26/05 update:
 ADOPTION PENDING!

Dandi is 4 years old and weighs 7.2 pounds but could stand to gain a pound. He is fully vaccinated, neutered and even had his teeth cleaned. He is doing great with his housetraining and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home - he even gets along with the cat (well, just pretty much ignores it). Dandi loves to run and play in the yard, ride in the car, and go for walks on a leash. He loves his treats and toys, but is also a "lovebug" that likes nothing better than snuggling with his person. Dandi has a Grade 2 heart murmur, but the vet says that with good care and good nutrition it's not a problem. This sweet boy will live a long and healthy life. (Adoption Donation - $200)

Mikey 8/12/05 update:
 ADOPTION PENDING!

Mikey is 8 years old and weighs 4.1 pounds. He is sweet, loving and quiet - an unassuming little guy that looks forward to cuddles and love. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is fully vaccinated but didn't have his teech cleaned since he doesn't have any! But don't worry, he eats just fine. Mikey is doing well with his housetraining, but will need monitoring and guidance. (Adoption Donation - $175)
